6,000 graduates of the MBC in the basics of life skills and services that can improve their economic condition, yet what’s next? As a large employer that continuously trains its own staff, HarborOne has the curriculum and capacity to teach job skills and professional advancement education to others in our community. As a successful company, HarborOne has the context and capacity to help small businesses in our community successfully launch and grow through education and coaching. 2010, HarborOne U is established in Mansfield to provide business skills, personal enrichment and financial education to small business, especially women-owned businesses. 5,700 attendees to date 2014, MBC expands its multi-service approach to include U offerings. A multi-faceted approach to client support at the MBC has resulted in a greater likelihood for client success in improving their economic condition due to: Developing a relationship and trust with the client over time; Leading a client through a continuum of learning; Presenting opportunities to the client for self growth; Clients refer others in need from the community; and Clients become loyal, smart, “bankable” consumers. The sustainability of an operation is not just funding, it is also dependent on the constant evaluation and evolution of programs to ensure they are relevant and comprehensive in order to help clients surpass their individual challenges.
