Fall 2012 Admission • Sacramento State is impacted at Freshman and Transfer levels • Open to freshmen and upper division transfers only during initial filing period • Admitting on self-reported information • All admission requirements must be completed by the end of spring 2012 term • Summer may not be used to meet admission requirements • Visit www.csus.edu/admissions and select “I want to apply” for more information
Freshmen Selection • Be a high school graduate • Complete with “C” or better each of the courses in the 15 college preparatory subjects (a-g) • Have a qualifying eligibility index (EI) • All students must submit scores from SAT or ACT • Local Area for Admission = high school graduates from Sacramento, Placer, El Dorado, San Joaquin, Solano & Yolo counties • Out of Local Area for Admission will be based on higher EI + space availability
Upper Division Transfer Selection • Complete 60 transferable semester units or 90 quarter units • Complete with a C- or higher the following: oral communication, written communication, critical thinking, and math (above intermediate algebra) • Complete 30 units in CSU General Education requirements or IGETC • Minimum GPA of 2.0 and good standing at last college or university attended
Upper Division Transfer Selection Cont. • Local Area for Admission = completing most of your transferable units from American River, Cosumnes River, Folsom Lake, Lake Tahoe, Sacramento City, Sierra, San Joaquin Delta, Solano or Woodland Colleges • Out of Local Area for Admission will be based by GPA + space availability • Returning Students please visit our webpage for more details

Important Dates October 1st – Preview Day www.csus.edu/previewday December – last month to take SAT or ACT (Frosh) January 6th - $55 Application filing fee, SAT or ACT test score due March 1st - Admission Notifications May 1st – Intent to enroll deadline May 5th– Last EPT/ELM (Frosh) May 16th – Transcripts for transfer June 30th - Document deadline (transcripts, test scores for SAT/ACT, AP) June/July – Mandatory orientation
Must Know for Counselors • Check here 1st prior to advising students www.csus.edu/admissions • Students can complete the Early Start program at Sacramento State, other CSU’s or CCC’s • EPT/ELM are not required for admission but are required for enrollment – EPT/ELM must be taken unless a student meets an exemption • Final high school transcripts must have a graduation date • Upon receipt of final transcripts all admits will be validated - admission will be withdrawn if the student is found to be ineligible
Show Your Students the Way to Sacramento State • Admitting on self-report information – accuracy is very important! • Student name given in the application for admission must match the name used to register for the SAT/ACT • All communication regarding application for admission will be by e-mail • Application acknowledgement letter will contain their Sac State ID number • Check My Sac State to see admission decision beginning March 1, 2012 • Tell students to read their e-mail & My Sac State “To Do List” even after being admitted • If admitted visit www.csus.edu/admissionsand select “I Have Been Admitted”
Campus Appeals Process • Examples of appeals we receive • Missed one or more deadlines • Academic Improvement or Incorrect Application Information • Not CSU eligible – requesting an exception admit • Guidelines for appeal will be available in early March 2012 following the release of admission decisions visit www.csus.edu/admissionsand select “I was not admitted”
