  1. Co-ExistingWorlds How culture food and fast food can both share the spotlight in the present and future.

  2. What do you think of fast food? • When we think of fast food, we think of McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s, Arby’s, KFC, A&W, etc • Obesity, cardiovascular diseases, unhealthy • Junk food and fat • Well, the actual definition is the term given to food that can be prepared and served very quickly, also known as Quick Service Restaurant or QSR. • Some examples are salads, sandwich wraps, fruit smoothies, and grilled chicken.

  3. The basics about fast food • Fast food is easy, because their buyer has to choose and just pay for them. • It’s prepared very quickly within 5-10 minutes by a quick team of people. • Hot fast food is always hot and vice versa. Therefore it is reliable. • Fast food can be very healthy such as a salad with grilled chicken. • Fast food is convenient for people who are always on the move. • It’s affordable. You can get a filling meal for under $15. It can be very easy on a person’s pocket • Fast food is very tasty. Everyone has their own opinion, but who doesn’t enjoy eating some fries and a hamburger? • It’s very popular around the world. Almost all the cities and states in North America has a fast food restaurant. Fast food is like a fashion icon. It’s like a celebrity amongst media and is a very popular commercial product. • Fast food is modern. It changes all the time because if it doesn’t, people won’t want it anymore since it’s old fashioned. • Fast food is filling. It fills you up quickly.

  4. Our Health b • Many people skip breakfast, but thanks to fast food restaurants, you can still be on the run, and eat healthy. Breakfast IS the most important meal of the day after all! • The risk of obesity does not apply to fast food, as you can only get obesity from lack of exercise, the speed of metabolism, and genetics. • Getting cancer is not because of eating fast food, but rather from over-consumption of alcohol, obesity, or genetics. • Fast food is not the cause of high blood pressure either. High blood pressure is caused by acidosis, which is when the chemicals in cosmetics penetrate through our skin. • Stress and anxiety is another factor of high blood pressure, as well as high noise levels, caffeine, smoking, and menopause. It has a link to cancer. Many people stress over cooking food. • One major myth is that fast food contains preservatives, but in fact, ALL food contains preservatives, whether from a fast food place or not.

  5. HEALTHY • EATING IS WHAT EVERYBODY IS NOW TALKING ABOUT WHEN IT COMES TO FOOD. • I’m telling everybody to go out to eat once in a while, but to make healthier decisions to where. • I’m going to talk to you about Ozone Organics. It started in 2007, but it wasn’t until 2010 when everybody realized how much value healthiness has, and now it’s going nation wide. Health-conscious Canadians on the run now have an alternative to the typical fast food restaurants. Offering all organic vegetables as well as antibiotic and hormone-free meats, which I believe is healthier than what most of us eat at home. • Healthy fast food restaurants are changing the face of fast food, or at least giving people another choice. After Ozone Organics’ and other healthy fast food restaurants’ success, many Canadians are now following in their steps or even changing fast food menus. • Wake up everybody! This is now the present and future of fast food!

  6. How globalization relates to the food industry: • * Homogenizing food has led to food standards of taste and quality. Low priced, hygienic foods are now available world-wide.* People can rely on restaurants to have the same taste and cost in different locations. For example, Italian restaurants.* The enlargement of the fast-food industry through globalization has created a great number of job opportunities to unskilled, uneducated workers. • Many people believe there can be a greater potential hidden in our current system. If we can some how not focus our energy on the economic benefits of globalizing food, there might be greater benefits, such as curing world hunger.

  7. Fun Facts • There are more than 300,000 fast food restaurants in the U.S. alone. • When McDonald's opened an outlet in Kuwait shortly after the end of the Gulf War, the line of cars waiting to eat there was seven miles long. • McDonald's feeds more than 46 million people a day - more than the entire population of Spain • 40 percent of American meals are eaten outside the home • The founder of McDonald's has a Bachelor degree in Hamburgerology • Ice Cream Is Chinese Food!
