Mission: develop, build and maintain computing infrastucture for storage and analysis of LHC data KFKI-RMKI joined (W)LCG as the 7th participant in June 2003 Present WLCG MoU: T0 (CERN) + 11 T1s + 60 T2s T2 in the MoU may mean several T2s and T3s together 31 countries are involved 4 Virtual Organizations corresponding to the LHC experiments Sites typically do not support all VOs
Hungarian WLCG T2 KFKI-RMKI, CMS T2 + Alice T2 2/3 - 1/3 ELUB, DU, SzTAKI MoU pledges: 2007 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 CPU (kSi2K) 200 270 300 360 450 500 Disk (TB) 40 70 100 120 150 200 WAN (Gbits/s) 1 1 1 1 1 1 At the moment this means ~0.5% of WLCG, ~1% of Alice and CMS But... ...growth rate has to exceed the above numbers to keep this level!
CCRC08 Combined Computing Readiness Challenge Lasted four weeks, ends today (How) does WLCG work at site / experiment / global level? Test everything before real data comes KFKI-RMKI: storage system needed changes/tuning, otherwise working fine
HunGrid VO • Opens the Grid to the non-HEP Hungarian research community • We use our expertise gained from WLCG... ... and also the (old) WLCG hardware • New resources will have to be added
Summary • CCRC08 metrics met, ready for real data • continue testing and tuning • increase both CPU and storage capacities
