Peloponnesian War • Sparta forms the Peloponnesian League to rally support of city-states against Athens • War lasts 30 years (Athens had a wall) • Plague “defeats” Athens • End of Golden Age / End of Importance of Greek city-states

Hellenistic Civilization • Blend of Greek / Egyptian / Persian & even some Indian Ideas & Innovations. • The Hellenistic (Greek) culture was absorbed by the Romans and became the course of study in their schools. • We now refer to the civilization of Western Europe and the Americas as a Greco-Roman Civilization.
Individual Classroom/Homework Activity • Create a paper version of a Facebook page. Real Facebook pages NOT acceptable. • You can be a real or fictional inhabitant of Athens during its GOLDEN AGE. • Include Friends / Status / Messages / Postings / Comments on postings and at least 5 images / pictures that are drawn or pasted onto the Facebook page. • Inclusion of the bare minimum will get a grade of 80 – the rest of the points will be awarded for creativity.
