  2. Articulation refers to the musical performance technique that affects the transition or continuity on a single note, or between multiple notes or sounds. (is the note short, long, connected, disconnected, etc?)

  3. Slur A slur is a curved line over or under a group of notes. The notes within the slur line are to be playedlegato(smooth and connected).

  4. Staccato A dot above or below a notes means to play it detached (short, separated). Staccato is the opposite of legato.
