National Look Ahead • Rollout of OEC 5th Edition • EMS vs. OEC, • to have patrollers excluded from State EMS regulations • National Immunity for Instructors and Patrollers in Field • Updated Schedule for manuals/programs • Video Clips w/ Professional help for S&T Training • New IT resources with focus on Database update and usage for members (Leadership) • Marketing push (New Sponsors, More Deals, Increase in revenue by $75000. • Member Survey Launched 3/2011 (Provide Leadership w/ Direction) • On line learning for Instructor Development, next Avalanche then MTR • Beta Test a Quality Assurance System using OEC as the first program • Update the Policy and Procedures based on changes in by-laws • Keep growing membership • Patroller Education Conference, Copper Mountain, April 12-14, 2012 • Plans to celebrate 75 Years in Conjunction with SIA Show, Feb. 1-3, 2013
Division Direction • Roll Out OEC 5th Edition • Continue to Rollout Accredited Ski Evaluator (ASE) Program for Qualified Ski Examiners • Continue the Ski Skills work already in motion • Video Training for Toboggan, new Transportation Manual • Every Area has a Toboggan Refresher that meets National Criteria and what to do when not met, have them completed by 1/15. • Build on Patrol/Area Management Relations w/ Midwest Ski Area Association (MSAA) meeting “How to Handle an OSHA Inspection/Inspector” • I heard it again this year, “Help my patrol be better skiers.” “They are a part of my image to the customer.” • Develop an Area Operations Resource Guide and a PR/PD Hand Book on how to do things and where the resources are to help • Beta Test the new Quality Assurance process using OEC • Support patrols with the radio licensing where needed

Eastern Michigan Region – Derek Werner • Monitor OEC 5th edition updates during refreshers • Level I Avalanche Class • Level I & II Mountaineering Classes • Continue ASE certifications • TES and SES in each Section • Ski clinics at each area • Continue to increase Senior participation
North Central Region –David Dahl NCR paid for the new OEC 5th edition books for all current/active ITs NCR for the 2nd year will pay NSP-C Ski School dues for all active instructors for Region training. 1/21/2012 NCR TES/S&T (Best ever Region clinic) at Brule ski area. This is a no charge event for all patrollers in the Region. 1/22/2012 NCR mandatory SEM Clinic at Ski Brule 1/27-29/2012 NCR Host 2012 Women’s Clinic at Big Powderhorn in there new lodge that is now under construction. There lodge was destroyed in a fire January 13th 2010 Senior evaluation teams will be made up of the highest credentialed available starting with PSIA level III, PSIA level II, and than ASE certified patrollers only.
Northern Michigan Region – Bob Lechtanski 1.) Roll out the OEC 5th edition to all NMR patrollers to insure the highest possible quality of care for injured patrons at Northern Michigan resorts. 2.) Provide all possible assistance to re-establish NSP presents at Hickory Hills Ski Area in Traverse City. 3.) Visit and recruit All local City and County ski areas in the NMR to become members in the NSP volunteer system. 4.) Work to improve participation at Region, Division and National training events 5.) Improve Awards writing submissions to recognize outstanding patrols and patrollers.
Ohio Region – Bill Currier • OEC 5th Edition Roll-out • Re-establish the Clear Fork Ski Patrol • Grow Ohio Nordic Patrols • Continue to improve patroller proficiency. • Recruiting patrollers and instructors • Leadership development
South Central Region Direction • Awards • Brainstorm methods to get more patroller awareness and involvement with awards. • How a patroller can identify actions that quality for awards • How to take the next steps to submit an award • Look for opportunities for simplification
South Central Region Direction • Increase Region Events participation • structure outdoor events to accomodate each hills needs, IE - bring events to the hills instead of patrollers travel to events • Bring event to hills, due to hill size and small staff, the patrol can’t afford to have patrollers skip their shift.
South Central Region Direction • Region advisors job descriptions • Update the region supervisors job descriptions to mesh with division supervisors job descriptions
South Central Region Direction • On hill QA service • Work with local areas to provide on-hill QA services, similar to OEC QA. Works like this: • Region Toboggan IT assigned to a hill • Local hill outlines the on hill event • IT attends on hill event and verify that the event was conducted as documented
South Central Region Direction • Stretch Goal • Electronic Course Registration Cooperate with national on developing an on-line app for streamlining course registration and closure processes

Western Region Direction – John Thomas • STW in Trollhaugen • 5 Certified Candidates • Ski Enhancement Seminar • Continue to Build the ASE program • Continue to build the NSP-C Ski School • Continue to harvest new people for all programs: Senior examiners(OEC & Ski/Tobaggon), MTR, OEC, Ski, Avalanche, Toboggan, ID and Nordic. • Work on an Awards Webinar and Signature process. • Continue to roll out PR Handbook.
