Phase 2 Objectives • To extend the IPT Library to be able to include the Phase 2 outputs from STF276 • To make the static view of the Requirements Catalogue dynamic! • To make much greater use of the IPv6 test database for TPs and TDs as well as requirements • To add some introductory text and links to the IPT Library on the Making Better Standards site and to carry out a small number of other essential updates MTS#42 STF295 Progress
Brief History • Phase 1 completed October 2005 • Phase 2 Experts selected January 2006 • Alex Berge • Finn Kristoffersen • Steve Randall • First Phase 2 Session February 2006 MTS#42 STF295 Progress
Progress • Introduction to IPT Library on Making Better Standards pages complete • Invitations to TC-HF and Secretariat to provide : • additional HF pages • revised Physical Characteristics pages • revised Regulatory pages. • Minor changes to Phase 1 IPT Library Search page to align with accepted ETSI practice • Revised T3Doc output (from Dec’05 Core IPv6 ATS and libraries) processed and Organizer tree rebuilt • Prototype pages produced RTF generation and dynamic browser tree for Requirements Catalogue • Begun the revision of the existing SQL queries to take the new IPv6 database structure into consideration MTS#42 STF295 Progress
Issues to be Resolved - 1 • The IPv6 Phase 2 database design is not stable • Changes to the design can have a significant effect on the complexity and efficiency of the queries embedded in the IPT Library pages MTS#42 STF295 Progress
Issues to be Resolved - 2 • The use of the T3Doc application to provide easy-to-browse documentation of the TTCN-3 test specifications is proving to be problematic for the following reasons: • Each T3Doc output file is processed (in a VBA script): • 3000+ files in COR specification • 4 hours to convert to IPT Library format • Organizer tree can no longer be processed automatically due to inconsistent use of naming conventions in the ATS and Libraries. • Errors in the T3Doc code itself mean that in some cases the output information is neither accurate nor complete (a small minority but nevertheless a problem).
