  2. Daily Summary TEAM-R Report @ 4 June 2008 There are convective systems continuously moving from the west and southwest (over the Taiwan Strait) toward the TEAM-R site all day. In the morning (local time), convective cells are kept coming from the west and further enhanced over the hills of the Central Mountain Range (north and northeast of the TEAM-R site). Sector scans are performed from the N to NE (345 to 75 degree) and 6 RHI scans are centered along the Kao-Ping River Valley (43 degree). In the afternoon, Sector scans are performed from the SW to NW (255 to 345 degree) and 6 RHI scans are centered at 300 degree. Strong convective echoes more than 40 dBZ are observed. Below are some interesting features observed by the TEAM-R.

  3. 4 June 2008 Mountain Cells DBZ over Terrain (2.6 degree elevation) DBZ over Terrain (2.6 degree elevation) Convective cells are enhanced over the foothills and slopes of The Central Mountain Range (CMR), north of the TEAM-R site

  4. TEAM-R PPI Scan (2.6 degree) ZDR Vr RHI cut SW Flow impinges on the CMR and then is blocked by the deep terrain (i.e., becoming parallel to the mountain ridges)

  5. TEAM-R PPI Scan (2.6 degree) RhoHV RhoHV RHI cut Deep convective cells are embedded within broader stratiform precipitation
