  3. MANDATE According to the Act on Adult Education (2001 CI): • Development • Research • Quality assurance • Services • Cooperation on the fields of adult education

  4. MISSION 1:DEVELOPMENT AREAS • Co-ordination of adult learning developments • Professional-methodological developments • Career-orientation development • Modern methodologies (PLAR-model, e-learning programs) • Further training for teachers and experts

  5. MISSION 2: RESEARCH AREAS • Effectiveness of regulation systems (on the basic, linguistic and vocational adult education areas) • Realization of training aims (Unemployment p.,Labour-market tr., Continuing tr.) • Effectiveness of training for specialgroups (civil society, disadvantaged people) • Job-orientation and career-guidance • Andragogy researches • Methodological researches (e.g. PLAR, modular-systems, job-analysis)

  6. MISSION 3:QUALITY DEVELOPMENT • Accreditation for adult educational institutes from 2002 – to present = 1200 accredited institutes • Programme accreditation from 2002 – to present = 1500 accredited programs • Quality assurancecontrolling - from 2005

  7. MISSION 4:SERVICES • Data-base service • relating accredited institutions and programmes • Professional journal/books • Professional library • Tendering • 1521 successful application • more than €35 million total amount

  8. MISSION 5:NATIONAL COOPERATION AREAS • Co-operation with public/higher education institutes • Co-operation with professional adult training institutes • Co-operation with social partners

MISSION 6:INTERNATIONAL CO-OPERATION • Promotion of information flow and experience exchange to solve the problems arising in the field of AE • Development of AE methodologies in cooperation with international AE professional and research institutions • Explorationof international correlation of Hungarian AE process • Participation in the international professional work and researches • Participation and influence in preparing international AE strategies

INTERNATIONAL ACTIVITY • Member of CEDEFOP’s REFERNET consortium • Member of ETF Advisory Forum • Member of CEDEFOP’s Virtual Communities • Organisation international conferences, workshops • ETF workshop on ‘Financing Mechanisms and Incentives in Adult Learning’ • ‘Vocational and Adult Educational Researches for the Future’ - international research conference • Internationality and regionality – demands of VET for employment • International projects • Partner in InfoNet • Partner in EMCET • Preparation of studieson carrier guidence on the behalf of ETF and CEDEFOP
