What Do We Do? • Fall Play • Café Murder • Westridge Poetry Slam • Winter Diversity Day Play • TBA: Anti-bullying Outreach Tour • Spring Musical • You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown • Fundraiser Revue & Showcase Performances • Drama Club • Thespian Troupe #89009 • National Junior Forensics League

  3. I Want to Act! • Auditions are announced for each show. • CAFÉ MUDER: Aug 28 or 29 (next Wed/Thu) • For Plays: Perform a short selection (or side) from the play • For Musicals: Sing “My Country Tis of Thee”; Callbacks include songs from the show or selections from the script

I Want to Act! • What if I don’t get in? • What if I do get in? • Rehearsals for plays go M-W 4:00-5:00 • Rehearsals for musical go M-Th 4:00-5:30 • “Tech Week” is the week before the show—we WILL go later • “Dress Week” is the week of the show—we WILL go later! • Performances in the evenings • STRIKE and the Cast Party

  5. I Want to Tech! • Lights • Sound • Costumes • Set • Run Crew • Stage Management

  6. I’m Not Sure What I Want! • Drama Club is for you! • Meets most Thursdays during the Fall and Winter season 4:00-4:30 • We play theatre games, do improv, and just have a lot of fun • You don’t have to commit to a full schedule or a show

  7. Thespians • The International Thespian Society is an honor organization for students in theatre • SMW has a Thespian troupe that our Junior Thespian troupe feeds into • Join SMW with up to half the points you need to be a Thespian your freshman year! • Thespians help publicize and raise money for productions • Thespians host the musical revue fundraiser • Thespian Executive Board
