The Energy Technology Partnership (ETP) is an alliance of 13 Scottish HEIs focused on world-class energy-related research, development, and innovation. ETP fosters collaboration between academia and industry, supports skills development, and drives economic impact. With a network of 200 academics and 700 researchers, ETP covers a range of energy themes such as wind, marine, solar, oil & gas, CCS, bioenergy, and more. Through programs like the ETP Energy Industry Doctorate Programme and the Knowledge Exchange Network (KEN), ETP is at the forefront of advancing Scotland’s energy research and innovation landscape.

ETP Energy Industry Doctorate Programme • Funded 107 Energy Industry Doctorates across all themes • Each doctorate has two supervisors from different ETP universities. • Studentships funded on 1/3 1/3 1/3 model • Over £3M leveraged in from industry partners: companies are co-investors, support project specification and engage directly with the research • Industrial partner can be any size, any location • Up to £30k from ETP, remainder split between university and industrial partner (can be in-kind). • Full list of projects on ETP website

KEN Projects for SMEs • Must be low carbon project • Must be a product/process being commercialised • Scottish SME or strong Scottish presence • ETP Grant of £10k for work by University Academics • ETP Grant of £3.5k for Student Projects
