Equipment Decisions and Budgets Two Options: • Stand-Alone Scanner - HP, Fujitsu, Canon, Xerox • MFP (Multi-Functional Product) - Ricoh/Lanier MFPs – An MFP is a device that performs a variety of functions that would otherwise be carried out by separate peripheral devices. As a rule, a multi-function product includes at least two of the following: printer, scanner, copier, fax machine. • Who Pays for it?
Implementation Plan • Initial request to Planning and Institutional Research (PIR) division • After meetings and emails, came up with Implementation Plan • PIR came up with a Project Plan with timeline
Security • Security Request Form • Decided on Security Levels and what privileges to grant • User ID’s and Work Studies (if using) Linking Banner ID’s to AppXtender ID’s Server Issues
AppXtender and Banner SetUp • Set Up Document Types ID’s • ERALINK EXABCXT
Testing and Procedures • Developing Procedures based on TRIAL AND ERROR • Trial and Error isn’t that bad…in TEST *Ask other school for their procedures… not us (yeah we will give you ours, no just kidding)
Implement in Production • Training This is where your written procedures really come in handy Can you train in test? Who has access to test? • Scanning • Indexing
