  1. Step one: Most young people aged between 5-14 watch over 20 hours of TV each week. What about you? Task 1: write a short statement saying how much influence you think TV has on your views & values, and weather you think it plays too big a part in your life Task 2: How much do you think you are influenced by advertisements? Talk about your favourite TV ads and why you like them. Are they products you are likely to go out and buy? Year 7 PDE Extended Homework Task Influence of the Media Aim:WALT understand the power and influence of the media All tasks should be completed on paper Step two: Task 3: watch a TV drama or soap and then write a review. What are the storylines? What are the dramatic events that the writer and director have included in order to capture your attention? How realistic are they? Have any new characters suddenly appeared in the script? Can you explain why they have appeared? Step three: Task 4: Design a influential advertising campaign to promote a product of your choice. Try to persuade people to buy your product through your poster • Hints/Tips: • Media: ways of communicating with large numbers of people • Some examples include: radio, TV, Internet, Newspapers & Magazines • Be creative in step three
