Within the MyNursingLab Study Plans, pretests can be taken only one time by the student.
In the Grades view of the Gradebook, you can see the Course Average score of all ASSIGNED activities. You can prevent students from viewing their grades by scrolling your cursor over the drop down options menu at the top of the grade column, then choosing Revoke Column.
In the Custom View of the Gradebook, note that you can see all pre/post test scores for all students enrolled in the class. You can scroll across the screen to view other chapters with the scroll bar at the bottom of the screen.
To view more details on individual student grades, scroll your cursor over the top of a column to get the drop down Options menu and choose View All Submissions.
Click on the plus sign in front of the student’s name to see the date and time of all submissions of that student’s activity.
Highlight the student’s name to see the details on the right of the student’s submission.
You can edit the student’s grade or Delete the Submission to let the student try again. This is particularly useful when you need to reset students’ pretest due to submission problems.
Another way to navigate through the Gradebook is by clicking on the folder links down the left hand side of the Gradebook under Course Content.
Another way to edit Individual posted grades: Navigate to the grade to be changed by continuing to click and open folders on the left under Course Content. Select Edit Grades from the options menu for the activity for that student.
In the Edit Grades window you can set a new grade and add any comments about why you are changing the grade. Click Update to save the new grade.
To edit grades for the entire class and add a global comment, click on the options menu next to the grade column heading. Choose Edit Grades.
Select the check box for Assign global grade/comment for all students to apply the same grade to each student in the list. To edit individual grades, change the grades individually in the student list and choose save.
You can Create Columns and add additional grade information in the Grades view. The next slide explains the type of grade columns you can add.
Numeric: You can only enter numbers. You can use this column to enter numeric grades for something not associated with a defined course activity or Study Plan Calculated: You can specify the formula used to calculate the grade. You can aggregate grades for selected activities or assign a weight to the final calculated grade. Selection list: You can specify the text values that can be selected for display. You define a fixed list of grading choices for the column (when creating or editing the column), such as good, better, best. When you edit grades for activities in this column, you will be able to choose from one of your defined entries, instead of having to enter the grade for each edit you make Free text: You can only enter text when grading student work. Import grades: You can import grades to the Gradebook (grade file must be in .csv, comma separated value, format). Total column: You can calculate totals for specified activities and/or grade columns. You must assign a weight to each activity or grade column included in the Total grade column. Note: Rubric activities are not available for inclusion in Total Column calculations. Here are the different types of grade columns you can add. You can access this information to print out from within your course, in the Gradebook tab, by clicking HELP in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
You can download grades to a csv file for ease of manipulation or merging with other student grades
