Let’s learn a little about STRONG ADJECTIVES. NORMAL ADJECTIVES. Some adjectives are normal (or base) adjectives. good , bad , dirty , pretty , cold , hot etc. STRONG ADJECTIVES. Other adjectives are strong (or extreme ) adjectives. fantastic , awful , filthy , gorgeous etc.

STRONG ADJECTIVES very – really – absolutely + adjective We can only use "absolutely" with a strong adjective e.g. "absolutely fantastic." We can only use "very" with a base adjective e.g. "very good." "Very fantastic" or "absolutely good" are wrong. However we can use "really" with both base or strong adjectives.
