Overview • Introduce concept of “toolbox” to support airshed planning • Describe range of tools in use • Introduce BC examples
Airshed Planning Toolbox • Various “tools” or approaches needed to understand and act on air quality problem • Tool selection will depend on a number of factors • Desire to develop a collection of different tools (i.e. toolbox) to support various airshed planning efforts in BC
Range of Tools • Scientific/technical • Regulatory • Economic incentives • Public education • Best management practices and guidelines • Planning tools
Examples • Draft compilation of current tools and a summary of regulatory responsibilities can be found at http://www.fraserbasin.bc.ca • Purpose is to provide communities with links to various information sources in support of airshed planning • Intended to be living document • Example: The Tools.pdf
