Define: 1. Chieftains- military leaders • 2. oath-helpers- would defend accused people of crimes • Describe German culture: • They lived in villages with farmland. They traded, herded animals and had green pastures. Their homes were thatched roofs with open spaces. They were warriors divided into clans with a military leader called a chieftain. There laws came from the people with court systems.
