  2. Sixth Grade Scientists! • Today you will be researching the structure and function of a living organism. The organism you will be researching is the Sunflower. For this assignment you will need your science notebooks to answer questions and make observations. Get ready for this adventure through the life of a Sunflower, Here we go!

  4. Questions • Name the stages of a Sunflowers Growth? • How does a sunflower reproduce? • What are some threats to sunflowers? • What things are necessary for growth? • What is the process called that describes how the sunflower gets food through the sun?

  5. Exploration • Now that you know more about the structure and growth process of a sunflower lets take a look at the process of Photosynthesis for review.   6. Explain • Now that you have reviewed the process of Photosynthesis describe in your own words what the significance of this process is for the survival of the Sunflower.

Then neatly draw and label the parts of the sunflower on a new page of your science notebook (this requires and entire page). Under each label write a brief explanation of how each part is valuable to the growth and survival of the Sunflower.
