  4. Authoritarian Autocratic leadership is a leadership style that demands leader-follower roles, in which the follower is expected to conform to the overt power of the leader. Joshua Vaughan, C/Maj, CTEP Instructor, NCOA

  5. Democratic Participative leadership requires unit members to participate in making the decisions. Most experts think this type of leadership has done more to satisfy each member’s needs (particularly the higher needs) than authoritarian leadership. Joshua Vaughan, C/Maj, CTEP Instructor, NCOA

  6. Laissez-faire “free-rein climate,” lets authority rest with each individual singularly, not as a unit of individuals. Joshua Vaughan, C/Maj, CTEP Instructor, NCOA

  7. General Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson • “Once you get them running, you stay right on top of them, and that way a small force can defeat a large one every time... Only thus can a weaker country cope with a stronger; it must make up in activity what it lacks in strength.” • What can we learn from this? Joshua Vaughan, C/Maj, CTEP Instructor, NCOA

  8. General Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson • "Don't say it's impossible! Turn your command over to the next officer. If he can't do it, I'll find someone who can, even if I have to take him from the ranks!“ • What can we learn from this? Joshua Vaughan, C/Maj, CTEP Instructor, NCOA

  9. General Robert E. Lee • “Do your duty in all things. You cannot do more, you should never wish to do less.” • “The education of a man is never completed until he dies.” • What can we learn from this? Joshua Vaughan, C/Maj, CTEP Instructor, NCOA

  10. Sir Winston Leonard Churchill • “Never give in--never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.” • What can we learn from this? Joshua Vaughan, C/Maj, CTEP Instructor, NCOA

  11. Erwin Rommel • “Don't fight a battle if you don't gain anything by winning.” • What can we learn from this? Joshua Vaughan, C/Maj, CTEP Instructor, NCOA
