  2. Miracles or Signs? John 6 (p.814) • A sign points to something. • Miracles don’t produce faith – they confirm faith. • Do you want the miracle, or Jesus? • The KEY sign = the resurrection. • Miracles are possible and real.

  3. Understanding Miracles and Science • There is a natural and supernatural world. • Miracles happen when our supernatural God interacts with our (His) natural world. • Thus, God is personal, not distant.

  4. Understanding Miracles and Science 2. A miracle is God interacting in the world. • Suspending natural laws or using other natural laws? • Coincidences? • God interacts so that beliers can be reminded and strengthened.

  5. Understanding Miracles and Science • Science is not the enemy, but a way of gaining knowledge. • You can learn about the Creator through science. • Scientific knowledge – through the 5 senses only; experimentation and replication.

  6. Understanding Miracles and Science • Science cannot give us spiritual knowledge or ultimate meaning. • Spiritual KNOWLEDGE – not opinions. • God wants us to think!

  7. How much do you have to see to fully believe? Do you want the miracle, or God?
