BA IN ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGAUGE 551015 ENGLISH CONVERSATION UNIT 2 Preparing to become an independent English user through CAE
UNIT 2 Collocations: These are fixed expressions that become established through repeated context-dependent use to enhance speaking skills. We talk of high mountains and tall trees, but not usually of tall mountains and high trees. Similarly a man can be tall but never high (except in the sense of being intoxicated!), whereas a ceiling can only be high, not tall. We get old and tired, but we go bald or grey. A big house, a large house and a great house have the same meaning, but a great man is not the same as a big man or a large man. FI-GQ-GCMU-004-015 V. 001-17-04-2013
UNIT 2 Certificate in Advanced English CAE Exam (Speaking module): This international exam certificates users in C1 level of CEFR. It shows that a student has the language ability to carry out complex research, communicate effectively at a professional level – and stand out from the crowd. Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) offers proof of the English skills that education institutions and employers seek for high-achieving study and work situations. FI-GQ-GCMU-004-015 V. 001-17-04-2013
