  3. Sacsayhuaman • North end of Cuzco on hill overlooking city • Stones of up to 300 tons • Fitted stones without mortar • Called a fortress, but probably Incan spiritual center A stone entrance at Sacsayhuaman

  4. Machu Picchu • Sacred city of the Inca Empires (Tahuantinsuyu) • Constructed late 1400s or early 1500s • Discovered 1911 by Hiram Bingham of Yale
