  2. 2019 – Ourjubileeyear The history of TÜV NORD begins in Hamburg in 1869. The first steam boiler monitoring association in northern Germany is founded, in German: DÜV. With that the number of explosions in factories falls noticeably. What drove our engineers back then is still the same today and in the future: Passion for Safety. We celebrate 150 years of TÜV NORD in many different ways. The focus is on the successful work for people and the environment through the decades and a glimpse into the digital world of tomorrow. FESTival 150 Years TÜV NORD Together with around 400 employees, customers, partners and guests of honour from politics and business, we will celebrate our 150th anniversary in Hamburg on the 9th of May 2019.   5. Innovation-Award We just don't have passion for safety, we also have passion for the future. The advancement of innovations and technologies is what drives us most. This award shows how we are involved in the developments of the future.   6. Roadshow The 150th anniversary will be on the road, joined by around 5,000 employees at the 24 largest locations in Germany. The period is 13 May - 18 June.   8. 1869 Foundingof„Norddeutscher Verein zur Überwachung von Dampfkesseln“ in Hamburg 1869 - 1932 1884 Permission to officially approve steam boilers in Prussia/Germany. Exploding steam boilers are a deadly danger - the establishment of steam boiler monitoring associations (DÜV in German) is the origin of TÜV NORD. Safety through technical monitoring. The idea works, new markets are opened up. The DÜV grows with technical progress. The testing of automobiles comes and the first automotive departments are created.   9. 1933 In addition to the DÜV Hannover, the "NorddeutscheÜberwachungsverein" expressly welcomed the Nazi regime. Two critical board members were replaced for political reasons 1933 - 1945 The DÜV are still represented nationwide, even during the Nazi dictatorship. The steam boiler disappears from the name. DÜV becomes TÜV (Technical Surveillance Association).   10. 1946 - 1957 The TÜV are divided - just like the country. In the Soviet Occupation Zone, the state takes over the TÜV inspection tasks. In East and West, people dream of their own car. In the West, the TÜV tested every vehicle from 1951. "I have to go to the TÜV" becomes a winged word. That still applies today. Testing the latest technology, coal-fired power plants, reactor pressure vessels - TÜV NORD makes the economic miracle safer. 1946 In East-Germany: The Soviet Occupying Powers disband Surveillance Societies. Lights test of a car with Bosch test device 1951 In West-Germany: Every second year: TÜV (PTI)!   11. 1958 - 1990 The automotive age continues to rise. A trend in which TÜV NORD is keeping track. Even abroad. Test monopolies are gradually falling. First for cars, then for installations and lifts. TÜV NORD responds and becomes expert, product inspector and instructor. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, TÜV Hannover becomes the patron of TÜV Sachsen-Anhalt e.V. TÜV NORD e.V. is registered in Rostock on 18 July, 1990. 1961 Introduction of the first general inspection sticker PTI TÜV Hannover, 1970 - 1975 um 1965 Growth ofmanymoreinspectionfacilities 1972 TÜV Norddeutschland (Northern Germany): 600 employees TÜV Hannover: 900 employees Rheinisch-Westfälischer TÜV (Rhine-Westphalian): 1,300 employees 1979 Foundation of first subsidiaries abroad by RWTÜV 1985 Installation of a vehicle monitoring system in Saudi Arabia by TÜV Norddeutschland (Northern Germany) Queuing in thedesert 150 Years TÜV NORD - 2019 is our jubilee year │ V-CC │ 09.01.2019

  12. 1991 - 2005 Joining forces to compete in the market - a group is created. TÜV NORD GROUP enters the market with 4,000 employees in 200 fields of expertise. In the field of energy technology, TÜV NORD GROUP is the largest expert service company in Germany. The fusion with the RWTÜV Group makes the new TÜV NORD GROUP the second-largest technical inspection association. 1992 TÜV Nord and TÜV Hannover/ Sachsen-Anhalt (Saxony-Anhalt) each achieve a revenue of around 300 Million D-Mark 1993 TÜV Norddeutschland(Northern Germany, Hamburg) and TÜV Nord (Rostock) fuse and adopt the name TÜV Nord 1997 TÜV Nord and TÜV Hannover/Sachsen-Anhalt fuse: the TÜV NORD GROUP is created 2004 Fusion with the Essen RWTÜV.
