  1. Successfully Submitting Grant and Contract Proposals Joseph B. Berger And Charlene Holley School of Education Office of Research and Engagement

ORE works with the faculty to: • Promote and facilitate collaborative research activity and productivity across SOE • Develop and monitor implementation of research policies in SOE • Provide resources and support for sponsored research and grant activity • Facilitate faculty development, particularly new faculty development, with respect to research • Facilitate publicity for research accomplishments in coordination with SOE communications and marketing • Serve as the School of Education’s liaison with the Vice Chancellor for Research and Engagement’s Office • Facilitate and coordinate the engagement of SOE with key stakeholders, partners and donors in order to promote the School’s research mission.

  3. Proposal Development Roles & Responsibilities • PI • Send RFP to ORE ASAP • Develop technical narrative • Work with ORE to develop budget • Write budget narrative/justification • Contact external partners and make initial partnership arrangements • ORE • Review RFP and flag special issues • Support budget development as needed • Support collection and tracking of required documentation • Liaise with external units and partners on and off campus

Proposal Submission Roles & Responsibilities • PI • Send all required documents to ORE at least 10 working days before sponsor deadline • Initiate electronic IPF • Initiate late submission request if needed • Approve proposal submission to OGCA at least 5 working days prior to sponsor deadline • Respond to queries from OGCA • Approve final submission to sponsor • ORE • Help compile documents • Load documents into GAMS • Help finalize IPF • Facilitate OGCA approval • Support PI responses to OGCA
