  3. The News All must: be able to recognise a form of media telling the news. Most should: be able to look at pictures in the news and guess what they are about. Some could: be able to select a piece of news that interests them.

  8. Task: • To use 1 of the types of media to find a piece of news for the news board. • To pretend to be a news reporter and feedback a piece of news.

  9. Implementing Internationalising learning in other areas in the school.

  10. Olympics ideas • Cross curricular ideas • Meeting with a specialist • We will meet with teachers/subject co-ordinators • World sports week-linked with D+T week • Olympics as topic in summer term

  11. Twycross Zoo-Adopting an animal. • Research adopted animal • Where is the animal from? • Habitat • Life cycle/food chain • Research fully the country in all aspects.

Implementing into topic themes • Year 1 • Water 3rd world countries • Ourselves and families Family life in different cultures • Travelling Transport in different countries. • Year 2 • Houses and Homes Homes in different countries • Sound and Light Technology in different countries. • Work and Leisure Jobs in different countries • Year 3 • Our Earth Natural disasters • Food Food in different countries • People Clothing and Religion These have been passed on to curriculum coordinators and added into the schemes of work where appropriate.
