Why are we doing this? • Prevent & manage obesity, adopting healthier behaviours • 91% Islington Adults do not exercise regularly 2010/11 29% (5500) C&YP • 64% Islington Adults do not eat a healthy diet 2006-8 • 18% Islington Adults are obese 2006-8 1% (188) Reception 22% (349) Year 6 www.ncl.nhs.uk
Obesity costsindividual & local economy • 23% (42,273) registered patients are overweight GP dataset 2011 • 14% (24,982) registered patients are obese GP dataset 2011 • 9 wards higher prevalence, 3 wards lower than Islington average • 22:38 practices ratio of obese adults • 5 practices > 1000 obese patients www.ncl.nhs.uk
