Physical Characteristics • Wingspan is about 10.5 ft. • Weighs from 24 pounds to 33 pounds. • Females are bigger than males. • On males beak they have a distinct bump.
Habitat • Likes cannons, forests, and places near water.
Conservation status • The Andean Condor is endangered because, their population is steady and not growing. • Threatened because, people would try to shoot them for killing their farm animals.
Reproduvtive • The bird usually mates between 6 and 7 years of age. • One egg every 2 years.
Parental Care • Young stay with parents for 5 years. • Both parents take care of baby.
Longevity and Morality • It lives up to 50 years old in the wild. • Females and males live the same life span. • Morality is same
Seasonal Parents • The Andean condor does not change during seasons. • It does not hibernate, migrate or torpor.
Diet • The Andean condor eats other smaller birds and carcasses and mice.
