  2. Word Categories: • Noun (N) • Pronoun (P) • Adjective (A) • Verb (V) • Adverb (A) • Conjunction (C) • Preposition (P) • Interjection (I)

  3. Noun Name for a person, animal, thing, place, Idea, activity. e.g. Mary, dog, chair, UPM, freedom, badminton

  4. Pronoun Alternate name for a noun. e.g. he, she, it, I , you, we, they

  5. Adjective Modifies the meaning of a noun or a pronoun e.g. big, good, tall, pink Tall man Pink shirt

  6. Verb Expresses an occurrence, act, or mode of being. e.g. is, were, kick, went, does

  7. Adverb Modifies (tell you more about) a verb, adverb, or adjective. e.g. quickly, loudly, here, yesterday He ran quickly, yesterday

  8. Conjunction A word that joins words, phrases, or clauses. Eg: for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so (FANBOYS) Jack and Jill went up the hill.

  9. Preposition shows time, place, movement, direction, relationship. e.g. with, for, at, from, to

  10. Interjection Expresses emotion. e.g. Gosh! Wow! Super! Yes!
