Argument • Although the U.S government was opposed to the Soviet Union’s communism, they shouldn’t have been hostile towards them.
Why? • Distinct differences made relationships with other nations uneasy. -Occupation of Korea • Were brought to the brink of war -Cuban Missile Crisis • Cold War had many negative effects -Soviet Union collapsed -Encouraged military dictatorships -New threat of nuclear weapons -Tensions were created between other nations
