3. The Typical Professional Conference • One-way communication: 6-10 PP pres./day • Attendees are passive • Only questions allowed • If groups: discussions unfocused, unimportant • Networking only in breaks • Learning philosophy: Learning is verbal transfer of knowledge. Full/empty container.
