Your Club needs a Service Project The Problem: • Need help finding service events? • Having difficulties? • Can’t find any events? • Don’t fear! • There are hundreds of service projects for your club to do!
Where to look? Of course, there’s Google: “Where can I find a service project”
Where to look? We can go to: • The Community • Lieutenant Governors • District • Kiwanis
Community Projects available for you to do: • Cleaning the local parks • Supplying and helping out at the Food Pantry • Helping out at community events • Help support local Families in need
Lt. Governor • LTGs are a great source to learn about projects beyond the community level. • Division wide events • Service event websites • Websites to find service events • Ask how your club can help with the projects • Inter-club events with the clubs in your division • Don’t forget the ERF!
District • The District has a district service project picked out, that goes for two years. • Ask your Lt. Governor all about it! • District website includes several service events • Project Shine • Bringing Light into Someone’s Life • District project from 2010-12 • What is Project Shine?
Major Emphasis • The District Project usually coincides with ME. • MEP: a focus of Children and the well being of their future. • To fulfill the Major Emphasis Program, Key Club International serves children in many ways. • Key Club has three service partners that serve and commit to children. • Key Club’s three partnerships are UNICEF, March of Dimes, and Children's Miracle Network.
Kiwanis • Ask your Kiwanis Club! • Do service events with them! • Get ideas that you can bring back to your clubs • Creates a strong bond with Kiwanis Club • Kiwanis International’s Project ELIMINATE • Maternal/Neonatal Tetanus • Kiwanis partnered with Unicef to eliminate MNT
