2. Testing Schedule • Testing English Language Arts/Reading and Mathematics must occur on consecutive school days. • The administration of the English Language Arts/Reading and Mathematics assessments does not have to occur during the same week and/or consecutive school days with end-of-grade Science assessment at grades 5 and 8. • Testing two subjects on one day is prohibited. • EOG assessments should be administered as early in the school day as the school schedule permits. • All students at the same grade level within a school must be administered the appropriate end-of-grade assessment at the same time on the same school day. • Students at different grade levels cannot be administered assessments in the same classroom

Eligibility EOGs p. 1 All students in membership at grades 3-8 (according to NC WISE), including students who have been retained at grades 3-8, are expected to participate with or without accommodations in the standard administration of the end-of-grade assessments in English Language Arts/Reading and Mathematics. All students in membership at grades 5 and 8 (according to NC WISE), including students who have been retained at grades 5 and 8, are expected to participate with or without accommodations in the standard administration of the end-of-grade assessment in Science.

7. EOG Eligible Students- Exceptions • Exceptions include: • Students participating in the NCEXTEND1 • Students participating in the NCEXTEND2 English Language Arts/Reading, NCEXTEND2 Mathematics and/or NCEXTEND2 Science assessments • LEP students scoring below Level 4.0 Expanding on the W-APT are not required to participate in the English Language Arts/Reading assessment, but are required to participate in Mathematics and Science assessments • Students deemed medically fragile because of a significant medical emergency and/or condition

Eligibility NCEXTEND2 p.1 All students in membership at grades 3–8 for reading and math and at grades 5 and 8 for science whose IEPs designate the use of NCEXTEND2 for reading comprehension and/or mathematics and/or science for testing purposes Exceptions: Students with current IEPs identified as LEP scoring below Level 4.0 Expanding on the state-identified English language proficiency reading placement test and are in their first year in U.S. schools are not required to be assessed on the reading part of the NCEXTEND2. Students are required to participate in the mathematics and science tests Students granted a medical exception To be Eligible for NCEXTEND2: Must have current IEP Does not have only a current 504 Plan If LEP, must also have a current IEP Is not identified as having a significant cognitive disability Is not receiving instruction in the NCSCS through theExtended Content Standards Is not likely to achieve grade-level proficiency within the school year covered by the IEP

9. Schedule: EOG p. 2 • EOG tests should be administered as early in the school day as the school schedule permits. • All students at the same grade level within a school must be administered the appropriate EOG at the same time on the same day. • Students who are provided the Scheduled Extended Time accommodation may not begin the test administration sooner than the school’s schedule for the regular test administration. • Multiple Testing Sessions must begin on the same day as the general test administration but may continue beyond the school’s schedule for the regular test administration if the IEP or Section 504 Plan designates the sessions are to stretch across multiple days. • Testing grade levels in two subjects (e.g., Mathematics and Science) on the same day is prohibited. • Students at different grade levels cannot be administered tests in the same classroom.

11. Administration Time EOG p.3 NCEXTEND2p.5 After est. time, give students a 3-minute break every 60 minutes. No max. time. After est. time, give students a 3-minute break every 30 minutes. Maximum time does not include time for breaks or general instructions.

12. Types of Assessment Items (paper/pencil) • The English Language Arts/Reading and Science assessments include all multiple-choice items. • The Mathematics assessments include multiple-choice and gridded-response items. • Mathematics gridded-response items are found at grades 5 – 8 • Gridded response items are on the first part/the calculator inactive part of the test.

13. Before Test Day pp. 6-19 (EOG); pp. 6-18 (EXTEND2) • Prepare for and attend training. • Read Assessment Guide (formerly known as Test Administrator Manual) thoroughly. • Read and study the Testing Code of Ethics (purple sheet). • Complete and submit REQUIRED Testing Plan (yellow sheet). • Read and follow test security procedures. • Copying secure materials (including gridded response charts for MIB) • Accounting for and storing materials • Only TC and backup TC may have access to secure materials. • Materials must be returned and accounted for daily. • Train proctors – Proctors may not • be alone with test materials; • pick up or return materials; • be relatives; and • paper clip mathematics calculator inactive section.

16. Irregularities • School TC and Principal must have current NCID • When a misadministration is declared for the general EOG, the affected student(s) must be re-administered another secure form of the assessment. • When a misadministration is declared for the NCEXTEND2, the affected students must be re-administered the secure form of the assessment no earlier than five consecutive calendar days following the conclusion of the prior administration.
