  1. Uranus By Asher C

  2. Uranus average distance from the Sun is 1,784,860,000 miles or 19.18 AU. • Its perihelion distance is 1,702,100,000 miles and its aphelion distance is 1,870,800,000 miles.

  3. Uranus rotates around once in 17 hours and 14 minutes. • It orbits around the Sun in about 84 earth years. • It has a diameter of 31,763 miles. • Uranus is a Jovian planet.

  4. The average temperature on Uranus is 4,200 degrees F. • Its highest temperature is in the core at 12,600 degrees F. • Its lowest temperature is the atmosphere at -355 degrees F.

  5. It is made out of 83% hydrogen, 15% helium, and 2% other gases such as methane, which makes Uranus blue • It is a gas giant, or Jovian planet its surface is practically gas with winds over 645 km per hour!

  6. Uranus is about 4 times the size of Earth. • It has 90% of Earths gravity. Ex. If you weighed 100 lbs on Earth, you would weigh 90 lbs on Uranus. • Its mass is 14 ½ times that of Earth.

  7. Uranus was discovered in 1781 • It was found accidently while looking in the sky with a telescope and was mistaken as a star. • It was named after the sky god in Greek mythology

  9. 10 MORE FACTS!!!! • Has at least 27 satellites • Half the planet remains in darkness for 42 years • Its rings were not discovered until 1977 • Its shortest distance from earth is 1,607,000,000 miles and its largest distance is 1,961,000,000 miles. • Voyager 2 has been the only spacecraft to ever visit Uranus. • Uranus is the 7th planet from the sun • Uranus is the 3rd largest planet in our solar system • Uranus is tipped on its side, so its poles are facing the sun • Uranus was accidently found while looking around in the sky and was mistaken as a star • Uranus is the farthest planet you can see with no telescope
