D U T I E S • To help marketing and buying staff plan and develop designs • To help create/represent a clients ideas • To produce sketches/sample presentations for clients • To work out designs from a group of samples • To experiment with color, fabric, and textile • To develop new design concepts

  4. Education & Salary • Education Requirements: • A degree in textiles, knitwear, fashion, art & design, or surface. • Internships • Salary: • $37,000 for 3-4 years of experience • $40,000-$52,000 for senior dsigners

  5. Personal Qualities & Abilities • Should be an organized person • Should be able to tolerate high stress • Must be creative • Needs to be well tempered in case a design does not settle well with a client • Must have basic computer skills • Must have an artistic background • Must know color

  6. Locations & Availability • More jobs available in the UK • Better Chance of getting a job in Italy, France, or America right after graduating in order to get more experience • Once you have enough experience you can transfer to UK to work with well known designers
