  3. They followed the food! • As the animals left the areas the Asians followed them across glaciers into North America. Let’s go

  5. Lived • Klammath River • Northern California • Very Rainy

  6. Housing • Wooden Houses • Slanted roofed houses to allow water to run off

  7. Food • Salmon • So plentiful you could walk across their backs • Weir • Fence used to trap the fish • Women dried it so it would last a long time • Wild Animals • Acorns • Ground into flour

  8. Clothing • Men • Deerskin loincloth • Moccasins with elk hide heels • Women • Knee length deerskin skirts heavily decorated

  9. Arts and Crafts • Basket weaving • Wood Carving • Canoe Making

  10. Religion • Shaman • Would open the salmon hunting season and the tribe would need to catch enough salmon to last the entire year.

  11. Money and Wealth • Denatlium Shells were used as currancy • Obsidian blades, woodpecker scalps and albino deerskins were considered valuable
