ESE GE!Research • National Longitudinal Transition Study – • 11,000 students w/ range of disabilities • Increased time with non-disabled peers resulted in: *Higher academic gains *Fewer absences *Fewer behavior referrals *Better outcomes after high school in employment & independent living skills

Reverse inclusion – GE ESE! • GE students move into an ESE classroom • Significant disabilities – higher levels of interaction w/ typically developing peers • ESE students gain better communication skills • ESE make academic gains • Teaches GE students tolerance and acceptance of disabilities • Takes away the fear factor • Helps lower performing GE students to practice their skills! • MAKES US ALL BETTER HUMAN BEINGS!
