  3. Faith at the Crossroads Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. Heb 11:1 1. Abel – Heartfelt worship 2. Enoch – Constant walk with God 3. Noah – Persevering despite obstacles and opposition 4. Abraham - Obedience which sees far into the future

  4. Faith at the Crossroads: Abraham God’s Promises to Abraham • A new land • A great nation through his descendants • Worldwide blessing through his descendants

  5. Faith at the Crossroads: Abraham By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He who had embraced the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son, even though God had said to him, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.” Abraham reasoned that God could even raise the dead, and so in a manner of speaking he did receive Isaac back from death. Hebrews 11:17-19

  6. Faith at the Crossroads: Abraham Then God said, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love—Isaac—and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.” Genesis 22: 2 We will worship and then we will come back to you. Genesis 22:5 Abraham answered, “God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.” Genesis 22:8

Hebrews 11:22 • Lesson 4 • Choose to rely on the invisible promises of God rather than the tangible promises of men.
