Across the whole area flows the Váh River, the longest in Slovakia.
Liptov boasts numerous museums, art galleries, castles and churches from different time periods.
The first area of interest might be Upper Liptov, specifically Liptovský Hrádok
In the city, there is a late-baroque monastery from the years 1727 - 1730 with a church that was built in 1806.
The river Váh flows through the town and its northern canal pours into Liptovská Mara
The Region has 249 immovable and 479 movable protected relics, one almost in every village.
The hike is not very exhausting. Mountain Chopok (2,024 m) is the second highest mountain in the Nízke Tatry mountains.
