  3. Overview of Skills Needed • Diagnostic Skills: • Must be able to diagnose patients • Understand test results from CT scans and MRIs • Communication Skills: • Listen to the patients • Link to what the patients are feeling • Explain medical procedures

Education • 4 years for bachelor’s degree • Biology • Chemistry • Psychology • 4 years at medical school for MD • 1 year internship • 3years of residency • To become board certified: • Pass exam set by American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) or a similar board • Obtain license from state
