Urbanisation Growth in the number and sizes of urban areas. What is an urban area?
Economic Activities • Taking raw materials, making products, selling them. • Transportation. • Services • Banking, insurance etc. TRADING GOODS AND SERVICES
Administrative • Government • Taxation – revenue commissioners • Passports, licences, grants, etc. • County Councils water management etc.
Social Activities Provision of housing and community services and leisure facilities. Theatre, cinema, sports centres, stadiums, tennis/soccer/golf clubs.
