Night School • Course programme distributed every spring and autumn to 60000 homes and a large number of public places like libraries, shops, banks. • Classes in for instance Pottery, Choir singing, How to play the guitar, Foreign languages, and bodily activities like Yoga, Callanetics, Dancing • Course fees • 2/3 paid by the participants • 1/3 co-funded by the Municipality of Århus • Culture & Education Department • There is a higher co-funding for people with handicaps and for pensioners.

Basic Skills School compensating courses for early school leavers to reach a level corresponding to 9th or 10th grade in • Danish • Mathematics • English • IT The national basicskills programme i calledFVU – an abbreviation meaningPreparatoryAdultEducation Optional tests from the Ministry of Education Free of charge

Special needs classes All kinds of general and special education for adults with mental and physical handicaps Basic skills School compensating classes Handicraft and hobbies Job placement and mentoring Funding: The Municipality of Århus covers tuition with 75% of the expenses from the Culture & Education Dep't 20% from the Social Services Dep't The Århus Region covers various other expenses

Integration projects • Targeted at immigrants and refugees • Full time attendance - up to 25 hours per week but with the possibility of individually reduced hours • Subjects like: • Practical Danish • School compensation • Rights and obligations • as a citizen • in education • at work • How to apply for a job • Combination of fundings: • Municipality of Århus, Government, EU Funds

KVINDELIV ~Women’s Lives Where change begins … Full time courses from 13 weeks up to one year 25 hours per week with the possibility of individually reduced hours Participants are Danish and immigrant women - (long time) unemployed for a number of reasons like poor health, mental problems, lack of education, severe social problems, and low self-esteem. Objectives: Coaching and supporting the women to regainselfconfidence and strengthenpersonalcompetencies. Job and educationcounceling. Finish with a personal action plan.
