  4. Feedback • from Arfa • Stories: On Thursday, Khaled, Yassine, and I met an MIT alum who graduated in course 14 like 20 years ago and he now lives in Kuwait. Apparently another hijabi manned the lobby 10 booth back in his day. Also on Thursday, I had a really nice conversation with a biochemist who was really impressed by our literature and thought we should send it to places like West Virginia where his parents live. He talked about how in that part of the country there was a local ballot measure to ban construction of all mosques, which even his super conservative dad thought was preposterous. Anyways he was really happy that we were taking an awareness initiative. • Feedback: The candy was a good draw but even with the candy I think people were intimidated to approach the booth. I say this because on Thursday we left the booth unmanned for two hours for the very purpose of removing that intimidation factor and all the candy was gone when I came back, but I didn't notice any change in the number of brochures. So maybe we should brainstorm a more attractive draw that people would be willing to make the effort for. At least for the time I manned the booth the only people who really took brochures were people I knew and called out to • from Fareeha • I feel that we didn't really get many people to come and look. I didn't really know how to call to people, so I kind of just sat back and watched and waited. One or two people came by, but I feel like I saw more people wander over when we just had flyers out and no people. I feel like we should try to talk to people who've done the booth in the past and see what they have to say.
