Reader Profile My reader is aimed towards the late adolescents, possibly post-graduates or an aspiring rock fanatic looking to start a career in the music industry. The renegade will feature a monthly subscription, with limited editions available for pre-order. My reader appreciates and values classic artists from the previous time era, and values the content that is featured inside.
Name Of Magazine Is both a assertive and relevant title for this magazine. The name acts as symbol and is strong enough to appeal to any rebellious natured being. A list of other possible names: REBEL NINETEEN50REVOLUTION 19FIFTY OUTLAWPASSIVE
Ideas for front cover To maintain the 1950’s theme, I would aim to keep the primary colours black and white throughout the cover. For the Double page spread, I would perhaps consider using colours in order to contrast with black and white theme.
Genre/sub-genre ‘s genre will focus primarily on rock, soft rock, jazz, country and folk. On occasion the magazine will feature other relevant and modern genres.
Editorial Mission/Statement Rejuvenating the rock genre, this magazine aims to be a luxury to the modern audience. Focusing on both classic, original & even modern bands who have been influenced by artists such as Johnny Cash, Elvis and Chuck Berry.
USP (unique selling point) • Maintaining a consistent, retro 50’s theme throughout the magazine. • Appealing to the younger generation. • The rarity of a modern 50’s magazine makes it unique. • Along with featuring modern day influenced bands, the renegade will focus on early 1920’s – 2012. • Although it is aimed for the younger generation, it also appeals to the older. • Aims to familiarize/re-familiarize audience with some original artists • ‘blast from the past’ for older generation • Aims to educate the younger generation on the origins of music.
Audience The primary audience for the renegade would be teenagers/adolescents, Although it has the potential to appeal to the older generation due to the magazine featuring relevant and memorable bands from their time.
