Music Magazine Pitch

Music Magazine Pitch. By Rachel Pitcher. I chose to have indie-rock as my genre. It’s a type of music which I really like, and it has wider opportunities to be creative with names, presentation and the band’s, or singer’s, costume and make-up. GENRE/SUB-GENRE.

  1. Music Magazine Pitch By Rachel Pitcher

  2. I chose to have indie-rock as my genre. It’s a type of music which I really like, and it has wider opportunities to be creative with names, presentation and the band’s, or singer’s, costume and make-up. GENRE/SUB-GENRE

  3. I already have five possible names for my magazine; Lo-Fi, Wash of Sound, Breakthrough, Revival and Song For Jennifer (SFJ). However, this last one maybe changed to a band name. POSSIBLE NAMES

  4. The ideal reader would be a young, female student at university with a part-timejob and a smallamount of spare cash.. She would have a varied taste in modern music; ranging from indie-folk bands, such as Mumford and Sons, to Two Door Cinema Club. Having grown up during the nineties within a musical family, she would still listen to some of the older bands, such as Status Quo, Queen and Nirvana. If given the opportunity and has enough free time and spare money, she would try to go to a gig every couple of months. READER PROFILE

  5. My mission statement is to introduce new bands to the modern world, and to also showcase some of the older bands as well. This magazine would offer a stage for new bands to be broadcast to recording companies, giving them the chance to stand out when, normally they would not have the chance to be noticed by these producers. EDITORIAL MISSION STATEMENT

  6. Reviews on both the older and newer bands • Suggestions based upon reader’s interest (e.g. if you like… you will love…) • Advertisements for some smaller gigs and bands • Exclusive interviews and songs (freebie cds) USP

  7. I like the black and white colour scheme in the Rolling Stone magazine, as I personally think it seems more sleek and professional. I may add some metallic colours if I did something like this, such as silver or gold. I really like the comedy within the cover featuring Two Door Cinema Club. It’s not at all serious, which is how I want my magazine. I just really like the idea of a band hitch-hiking to one of the world’s most famous concerts, it’s kind of ironic. COVER IDEAS
