Huge environmental benefits • Metal recycling saves 551 million tonnes CO2equivalent to: • 1.8 % of all fossil fuel emissions* • 65% emissions from aircraft • Increasing recycled content from 40%-50%would be equivalent to: • 15% cut in aircraft emissions • *metal and paper, according to BIR/Imperial College (2010)
