Best Practices • What we were looking for? • innovative actions, initiatives, resources or regulations • Where we were looking for them? • – in the city of Cracow • – in Małopolska region • in all Poland
Best Practices • Area 1 - Flexible labour alternatives • What we identified: • SMEs usually are not very likely to introduce flexible arrangements • staff policy supporting conciliation is more popular within multinational companies • Our choices: • 1. One SME implementing flexible work arrangements, • 2. National competition for „Mother friendly company” • We are still looking for example of best practise of conciliationpolicy among big Polish companies
Best Practices • Area 2 - Distribution of responsibilities within the family • the initiatives promoting equal distribution of responsibilitiesare not very popular in Poland, • there are no local activities in this area in Cracow, • there are more and more young families which care about equal distribution of family responsibilities • Our choice: • 1. National program „To be a parent”; two campaigns „Dad and me” and „“To be a Dad is an everyday job”.
Best Practices • Area 3 - Resources in support of real conciliation • - there are more and more local initiatives, especially in the area of alternative child care, • - some of the initiatives are supported by diverse institutions and persons (different sectors and funds), • Our choices: • “A garden for mother and child” • „Lets”(time bank) - exchange of services promoted among women intended to reintegrate
