  4. Godly sorrow comes from conviction over one’s own sin (Psa. 38:3-5) • Knew she was a sinner, Lk. 5:8; 18:13 • Gospel convicts, Jno. 16:8; Acts 2:37 • Leads to repentance, 2 Cor. 7:9-10 • Acknowledge sin, Lk. 7:38

  5. A Picture of Self-Righteousness(Luke 7:39; Isaiah 65:5) • Void of compassion, Matt. 9:36 (1 Jno. 3:17; Col. 3:12-13) • Condescending superiority, Lk. 7:41- 42, 47; 7:39, 40; 18:9-12 • No mercy, Lk. 6:36-38
