  3. BACKGROUND “The desire for Europeans to be self-employed is decreasing. -Especially in the EU15.” Eurobarometer Entrepreneurship Survey 2007 and 2009

PROJECT AIM Enspire EU aims to boost the Enprepreneurialmindset by: • IDENTIFYINGandSHOWCASINGtheBESTPRACTICES of howweinspire Europeans to becomeentrepreneurs • EXCHANGE THESE BEST PRACTICES i.e. transfer and adoptsuccessfulinitiatives from aroundEurope • PROVIDING POLICY RECOMMENDATIONS for better policy effectuationwithinentrepreneurship

  7. CHALLENGES • AWARENESS OF THE ALTERNATIVE that self-employment is to being a wage earner • ACCESS TO CAPITAL – especially relevant to the ENSPIRE EU target groups • ADMINISTRATIVE BARRIERS to put up your own business • SUCCES RATE for small and medium sized businesses

  8. SOLUTIONS • AWARENESS CREATION • CREATE INCENTIVES TO BECOME SELF-EMPLOYED • REMOVE OBSTACLES - administrative barriers etc.

  9. OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE CONSORTIUM • KNOWLEDGE OF EUROPE’S PROBLEMS IN THIS FIELD • A BIG NUMBER OF SUGGESTED SOLUTIONS • A STRONG BASIS TO INFLUENCE POLICIES

TARGET GROUPS The 3 Target Groups as defined by the consortium: • DISADVANTAGED/ CHALLENGED: Women, Migrants and disabled people • DISCOURAGED: Long-term unmemployed people (over 45 years old) and people with a low level of education • DISCONNECTED: Young people at the secondary level of education who are disconnected from the school system.
