Examples of the Complete Predicate… • The phone rang. • “rang” is the predicate because it is telling you what the phone (subject) is doing. • Old Faithful is a giant geyser in Yellowstone National Park. • “is a giant geyser in Yellowstone National Park” is the predicate because it is telling about the subject which is Old Faithful.
Examples of theSimple Predicate… • Sarah cleaned the filthy house. • Billy took his dog on a walk.
